- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 4 cups plain flour
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups warm milk
-
Place all ingredients in a bread maker and set to “dough” cycle, 45 minutes. Or if you don't have a bread maker, mix yeast, sugar and warm milk together - wait ten minutes allowing the mixture to froth before add the remaining ingredients. Knead, shape into a ball.
-
Roll out on a floured surface into a large rectangle shape.
-
Using a pastry brush, spread a generous amount of melted butter over the rectangle.
-
Mix a cup of brown sugar and ¼ cup of cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over the rectangle.
-
Roll up it up into a long sausage and slice it up into 3 cm rounds. Place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for about 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for 20 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Make a runny glaze with juice from one lemon and icing sugar. Brush over each pinwheel. Devour!
